The plenary started with an opening prayer led by the speaker honorable Uche Okafor, he welcomed everyone present.
The votes and proceedings of the last plenary was checked, carried and signed.
Honorable Uche Okafor speaker Anambra State house of assembly officially announced the death of honorable Okechukwu Okoye member representing Aguata 2 constituency.
‘He was killed by his abductors on the 21st of May.’
Anambra Assembly through the honorable speaker sympathize with his wife, children, his immediate family, Isuofia community, Aguata 2 constituency and the entire people of Anambra for such a great lost.
He also sympathize with the members of the 7th assembly, Anambra State house of assembly, who happened to be his colleagues.
Meanwhile the speaker Uche Okafor called on the security agency to unravel whoever is behind the killing of the deceased.
Anambra Assembly appreciate what the governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo is doing regarding security in the State and they encourage him to do more so that the security of Anambra will be normal.
He also urged the people of Anambra to be security conscious and that if ‘they see something they should say something’.
A minute silent was observed for late honorable Okechukwu Okoye by the members of the honorable chamber.
Honorable Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka South 1 constituency moved a motion that Anambra Assembly be adjourned sine die.
Honorable Emmanuel Nwafor member representing Orumba South constituency seconded the motion.
Immediately after the plenary the State house members filled in for signing the register, lead by the speaker Hon. Uche Okafor.
