…I accept the election result in good faith and congratulate the winner
Labour Party House of Assembly Candidate Oyi Constituency Mr. OCN Okafor says the yearning for a new Nigeria is far from reality, with the desperation, institutionalized and weaponized poverty by the incumbent administration, both at state and federal levels.
Reacting after the Anambra Assembly elections, Okafor expressed appreciation to all those who supported his ambition of becoming a lawmaker.
“This is to say a big thank you to God Almighty for his protection and strength throughout this campaign period. I thank my family, friends and campaign team, for your prayers, encouragements and supports.
“To the thousands of Oyi people that found faith in us and voted without any financial or material inducements, in Nkwelle Ezunaka, Ogbunike, Awkuzu, Nteje and Umunya, you are the real MVPs – I promise not to let you down, we are going to build on your massive support in the just concluded elections and prepare strongly for subsequent elections.
“We did not lose this election because we were unpopular or unprepared, we lost the election to cartons of indomie, bags of rice, wrappers and phones that were used by oppositions for vote-buying and voters inducement.
“We can only pray, hope and work towards a Nigeria where the will of the people will be upheld, and their choice of electing credible leaders will be without inducement with items that would last them just for days before they sink back to abject lack and poverty.
