Anambra State House of Assembly has reinstate suspended lawmaker representing Ayamelum Constituency, Hon. Barnard Udemezue.
The House during plenary on Thursday,
after consideration of report by the House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges, headed by the Majority Leader, Sir. Ikenna Ofodeme, reinstated Hon. Udemezue.
Hon. Nobel Igwe moved a motion for the adoption of the report, and was seconded by Dr. Tony Muobike.
While presenting the report, Sir. Ofodeme maintained that based on the findings and observations of the Committee, Hon. Udemezue through a letter, dated 27th November 2025, apologized to the Speaker, members of the 8th assembly and also requested to be reinstated.
This letters came within five days of his suspension, as demanded. Hon. Ofodeme submitted.
The Majority leader noted that suspended Udemezue was not seen around the premises of the Anambra State House of Assembly during the three months, second badge suspension.
The Committee recommended that Udemezue be reinstated, and that restrictions on his allowance be canceled.
The Committee also recommended that Udemezue be allowed to have full access to Anambra State House of Assembly complex and that he should join the activities of the 8th assembly.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, who presided plenary, urged the Clerk to guard Hon. Udemezue on the conducts of the Honourable Members.
Angel Network News (ANN) recalls that Udeze during plenary last Tuesday, 17th February, requested the House Committee on Rules, Ethics and Privileges, Chaired by the Majority Leader, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, to review the suspension of Hon. Barnard Udemezue, following the initial review on 28th August 2025.
Hon. Udemezue was further suspended on November 26th 2025 for another three months because of unpalementry activities and for failing to meet the initial resolution of the House.
