…Hon. Smart Okafor becomes committee chairman on petroleum and mineral resources
Anambra state house of assembly on Tuesday held it’s first plenary for the year 2023. In his welcome address Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, the speaker welcomed the lawmakers back and wished them a happy new year.
Rt. Hon. Okafor recalled that Governor of Anambra state Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo created new ministries amongst which was ministry of Petroleum and mineral resources with respect of Anambra being an oil producing state.
In his words “For this administration to do well as an oil producing state, it is very important for the creation of the committee that will over sight the function of the ministry and am happy to announce to this honourable house that the committee on petroleum and mineral resources will be chaired by the member representing Nnewi North constituency Hon Nonso Smart Okafor..
“Following Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor appointment, Hon. Beverly Nkemdiche Ikpeazu will replace him and will now chair the committee on gender and women affairs.
“Following Hon. Beverly Nkemdiche Ikpeazu taking over the committee on gender and women affairs, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu takes over as the chairman house committee on education which includes basic and tertiary education.
