Anambra Assembly Resumes Plenary, Reshuffle Committee Chairmen

Anambra state House of Assembly today Tuesday 23rd January 2024 resumed plenary after going for christmas and new year break.

Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze in his welcome speech thanked God for a peaceful festive season celebrated in good health.

” As i welcome you all to our legislative activities this year 2024, i commend the honorable members who did various constituency empowerment programs during the christmas break.

” I appreciate you all for reaching out to your constituents. 

” As we resume for 2024 legislative year, i sincerely urge both honorable members and staff of the legislature to re-double our efforts to ensure we achieve alot by Gods grace. 

“Let us be mindful of our legislative agenda and mandate should be pursued with all sense of commitment and hard work so that our impact towards the over all development of the state will be felt by the citizenry. 

Angel Network News reports that Rt. Hon. Udeze also announced the reshuffle of some house committee chairmen.

“The house committee chairman of Transport, Hon. Patrick Udoba (Anambra West) will now serve as Chairman House Committee on Local Government and Chieftancy, Community Matters. 

“The house committee chairman on CSO, Establishment and Labour Matters Hon. Kingsley Udemezue (Idemili North), will now serve as house committee chairman on Transport. 

Member representing Onitsha North one Constituency Hon. Justice Azuka who replaced Hon. Dauglas Egbuna who was removed in court, will serve as chairman house committee on CSO, Establishment and Labour matters. 

Hon. Justice Azuka, will also serve as Deputy Chairman house committee on Public Petition. 

Hon. Azuka will also serve as member to the following committees; Committee on Housing and Urban Development. Committee on Public Account. Committee on Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Committee on Youth Development and Sports. Committee on Judiciary and Justice. Committee on Public Procurement. Committee on Works and Infrastructure. Committee on Transport. Committee on Education. Committee on Health. Committee on Homeland and Boundary Matters and Committee on Environment.

The house adjourned to Thursday January 25, 2023.
