The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has called on both National and State legislatures to enact laws that will guarantee adequate protection and training of the Nigerian children.
In his goodwill message on behalf of the State Legislature to mark this year’s Children’s Day Celebrate, Rt. Hon. Udeze enjoined parents to give proper home training and unhindered education to their children in order to get the best from them.
The Speaker who described children as the pride of the family, advised parents to show equal love to their children and not to discriminate among them in any manner.
He charged children to study seriously and abstain from acts capable of tarnishing their image.
Rt. Hon. Udeze while commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the genuine efforts he has made in improving education in the state especially the massive employment of over eight thousand teachers as well as introduction of free education from primary to junior secondary three, enjoined affluent citizens to contribute their quota towards securing a better future for the children.
The Speaker called for the reintroduction of moral studies in the education curriculum to enable school children to achieve both academic excellence and sound morals.
