The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described former Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Prof. Humphrey Nwosu as a great Nigerian who reformed the Nation’s electoral system and brought sanity and innovations to the political practice in Nigeria.
Felicitating Prof. Nwosu on behalf of the State Legislature as he marks his 83rd birthday through a release signed by Mr Emma Madu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Udeze maintained that the erudite Professor of Political Science and originator of “Option A4”, did Ndigbo proud in the enviable manner he discharged his duties as Nigeria’s Chief Electoral Officer between 1989 and 1993, adding that his electoral initiatives and reforms endure.
The Speaker who lauded Nwosu’s contributions to the Nigeria’s democracy, called on federal government to name an an important federal institution after him as a mark of honour and appreciation for his efforts towards the advancement of democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
Udeze prayed God to continue to protect Prof. Nwosu and give him longevity, sound health and wisdom to enable him to further impart knowledge and character to the society.
