The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev.Jonas Benson Okoye as a revered Man of God who has distinguished himself in his service to God.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Felicitating Bishop Okoye as he marks his birthday, Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that Bishop Okoye has proven beyond doubts that God really called him in view of his religious exploits.
The Speaker extolled Bishop Okoye’s evangelical and ecumenical accomplishments especially during his service as the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese where he rendered excellent service to God and humanity.
Rt. Hon. Udeze in a press release signed by Mr. Emma Madu, Secretary to the Speaker, stated that Bishop Okoye has within the period he has served as the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, brought sanity, intensified various religious outreach and made giant strides in the spiritual growth of members of the diocese.
The Speaker while soliciting prayers and support from the members of the diocese to Bishop Okoye to enable him take the diocese to greater heights, prayed for God’s continuous protection and abundant grace upon Bishop Okoye, even as he wished him long life and good health.
