Anambra Assembly on Friday started with a welcome address by the speaker Honorable Uche Okafor, the votes and proceedings of last plenary was checked and carried.
The governor Professor Charles Soludo, sent a letter to Anambra Assembly and the letter reads:
“Request for the consideration, authorization and approval of Anambra State house of assembly, to secure 100 billion naira global limit, multi option term loan facility for infrastructure development in Anambra State”.
Recall that Angel network news had reported that the governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo presented a revised budget on May 2022.
The revised budget estimate of 169, 621, 744, 131 naira include provisions for raising domestic loans and other local currency loan’s tied to specific programs to fund the anticipated budget deficit of 42 billion 37 million 720 thausand 187 naira.
In the letter sent by the governor it was disclosed that the executive council of Anambra State have considered, authorize and approved the request of the governor for the 100billion loan, during the executive council meeting held on 4th of July 2022.
Meanwhile a bill for a law to provide the sum of 169, 621, 744, 131 naira for services of the government of Anambra State of Nigeria for the year ending 31st December2022 and for related purposes was read for the 3rd time and passed into law in Anambra State house of assembly today.
Honorable Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka South 1 constituency moved a motion for adjournment to Tuesday 19th of July 2022.
Honorable Onyebuchi Augustine ofor seconded the motion for adjournment.
