Professor Chukwuma Soludo has described the Anambra State Burial Law 2019 as the only way to demonstrate decent burial for the dead.
Angel Network News reports that Soludo stated this at St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Isuofia, Aguata Council Area during a thanksgiving mass to mark the end of the funeral activities of their late patriarch, late Pa Simeon Soludo.
The Governor stressed that the only gesture deserving for the living is to give them a befitting life, rather than striving to give them befitting burial on demise.
He noted that his family tried their best to give their father a befitting life, explaining that it was the reason they organized a burial without obscenity and vanity in line with the state burial law.
According to the Governor who announced that the family will select two schools from each Senatorial District and pay WAEC fees for their students, said it is better to devote resources to promote the living.
In a homily, Rev. Fr. Anthony Chiegboka who spoke on consent, blessing and services, revealed that if believers give their consent to God, He will dish out extraordinary everlasting blessings.
While pointing out that Anambra is gradually witnessing a turn around in all sectors, Rev. Fr. Chiegboka solicited for the people to always give God a chance by doing their duty and pledged to continue to pray for Governor Soludo to succeed.
