The Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo has received “African Jewel of Integrity, Human Dignity and Social Justice” award in Awka.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of Editorial Board of Freenews Magazine, Mr. Obinna Mbonu, said it was in recognition of the Commissioner’s commitment to ensuring that everyone within the jurisdiction of her ministry is protected, urging her not to relent.
Mbonu commended the Commissioner for working in the areas of women empowerment and helping to resolve issues that may have lead to broken marriages.
“The award was bestowed on the Commissioner as a result of her outstanding service to humanity.
Receiving the award, Mrs. Obinabo thanked the group for recognizing her good works, and dedicated same to the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo, for her immeasurable support and guidance, even before she assumed office.
The Women Affairs Commissioner further stated that the award will spur her to do more, promising not to disappoint anyone in the course of discharging her duties.
” This award has added to my moral support and motivation to do more, and I promised to continue to deliver on expectations without fear or favour,” she applauded.
