Anambra State Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam on Friday decorated hundred and ten (110) officers recently promoted to their new ranks.
Other senior police officers as well as the families of the promoted officers performed the decoration exercise at the event held at the Anambra Police Command.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
twenty (20) Superintendents of Police (SP) were promoted to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), twenty four (24) Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) were promoted to Superintendents of Police (SP) while
Sixty-six (66) Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) were promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP).
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, DCP. Felix Ogarabe who spoke on behalf of CP Itam after the decoration said promotion comes from God and urged the newly promoted officers to use their new ranks judiciously and inspire their junior ones, and also work within the ethics of the profession.
He reminded the promoted officers
of the increased level of responsibility that came with their new rank, encouraging them to exhibit higher wisdom in there actions and decision making processes.
” Promotion comes from God and am urging all of you to be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police. Don’t disgrace this rank, instead, leave above it because your responsibilities have been added and you must justify your promotion”.
In a vote of thanks, Chief Superitendent of Police, CPS, Mr. Andy Jokpeyibo, thanked God for the privilege and assured that they will use their new positions to advance the course of police force.
ANN recall that Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in-charge of Zone 13 Ukpo, Anambra State, Godwin Ndidi Aghaulor on Tuesday 7th January 2025, also decorated fifteen (15) officers who were promoted.
