Wife of the governor of Anambra state Mrs Nonye Soludo says that the present administration will continue to support investment ideas and actions that will help the collective achievement of a dream homeland.
ANN reports that Mrs Soludo stated this at the Professor. Dora Akunyili Women Development, Awka, while presenting start-up equipment and free-interest loan cheques to graduands of the 2023 skill acquisition training sponsored by Anambra Women United, (AWU), Chicago, USA.
Speaking shortly before presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Mrs Soludo commended AWU for heeding the investment home call, most importantly, for supporting the human capital development focus of the present administration.
The governor’s wife, while assuring that the government is open to supporting individuals and groups that want to invest at home, explained that human capital development is a major pursuit of the Soludo administration.
She urged the beneficiaries to take the privilege seriously and use the opportunity to better their lot, that of their families and the state in general.
Part of the association’s corporate social responsibilities is to give support and funding for health services, charity, small-scale business growth, and social interventions.
Aside from beneficiaries that got interest-free loans, others were given equipment ranging from oven, sewing machines, makeup kits, and hair making gadgets, among others.
ANN gathered that AWU is an association of Anambra women based in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo said that the partnership with AWU has shown that Ndi Anambra all over the world are ever willing to bring their resources home, and commended the governor’s wife for supporting investments in women and girls.
In her remarks, the representative of Anambra Women United, Chicago, USA, Lady Uju Emechebe, said that the association has made crucial interventions in supporting the health sector, noting that the empowerment programme was a way of supporting the human capital focus of the present administration in Anambra.
She said that the group will do more to support the state and urged the beneficiaries to be productive with what they have been given for the good of themselves, their families, and the state.
