Anambra State Firstlady, Mrs Nonye Soludo has educate Nnewi traders on the risks of storing foods with chemicals substances.
The wife of the governor of Anambra State, while addressing traders at Nkwo Nnewi Market asked traders to quit storing food products with poisonous chemicals because of the damaging implications on human health.
The governor’s wife who continued her ongoing Healthy Living Market Outreach, pointed out that while people who practice such methods may not be fully aware of the dangers, diseases caused by the act could be life-threatening.
Mrs Soludo noted that so many slow-killing sicknesses could be traced to unhealthy consumption lifestyle, some of which come from foods grown or stored with harmful chemicals.
She also educated the market people on the rules of personal and environmental hygiene and urged them to take common hygiene practices like hand-washing and cleaning of their surroundings, seriously.
The Firstlady also encouraged them to look out for one another, live as one community, and combine efforts to tackle certain social vices like drug use and cultism among children and youths.
