Anambra Football Association Chairman Kicks Off Babatem 2024 All Stars Game In Awka

Babatem Anambra State All Stars Game 2024 has officially kick off on Sunday 14th July at the Awka City Stadium.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the opening game was between Anambra State All Stars Club Onitsha against Obosi All Stars.

The defending champions, Anambra State All Stars Club Onitsha score first from a brilliant strike by Chijoke Onyekwulunne, before the Obosi All Stars equalized few minites before the half time through skillful Arinze Chukwurah.

Obosi All Stars took the led in the first minutes of the second half as Chukwurah scored again in a highly entertaining and competitive football game as the match ended 2:1 in favour of the Obosi based football team.

Speaking in an interview after the game, Coach of Obosi All Stars Comrade Chukwunwendu Okoye said his team believed in themselves which was the reason they fought till the end.

” Before the game, we were the under dogs because we played against the defending champions. Nobody gave us a chance but thank God we won the game. This victory means alot to us because it has boost our confidence.

” I commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the Football Association Chairman of Anambra State General Chikelue Iloenyosi for organizing this competition. This administration has resurrect grassroots sports again and we hail Babatem for joining hands in making it a reality.

Speaking earlier before declaring the competition ope, Anambra Football Association Chairman, General Chikelue Iloenyosi urged all players participating in the tournament to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship and fairplay.

Iloenyosi commended Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his support, describing him as a sports loving Governor.

The FA Chairman stated that the competition was organized for men of fourty years and above and that the aim is to promote unity, brotherhood and healthy living.

ANN gathered that Group A has; Anambra State All Stars Club Onitsha, Villa All Stars FC Awka and Obosi All Stars.

Group B has; Peace FC All Stars Awks, Puma All Stars Army Barracks Onitsha and Ogbaru One constituency FC ( Okpoko).

Group C has; Fegge All Stars Onitsha, Ogbaru All Stars FC and Enugu Ukwu Old Boys FA.

Group D has; Housing Football Club Onitsha, Great Stars FC Awka and Ekwulobia All Stars.

Group E has; Liberty All Stars FC Atani, Uncle Ralph All Stars Mgbakwu and Great Ireland United FC Fegge.

Group F has; Nkpor Veterans Recreation Club, Awka Capital Elite FC and Old Skuul All Stars Awka, while group G has Evergreen FC Awka, Metu Memorial Old Boys and Unity FC Awka.
