Anambra: Foundation Launches School Competition, Award Cash Prize To Winners

Nkiru Okoma Foundation has launched its inaugural competition for secondary schools in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, marking a significant milestone in its effort to promote education and skills empowerment.

The competition, which was held at Obosi Town Hall, featured spelling bee, quiz, and skills’ hunt for junior and senior secondary schools in the community.

Addressing the students, the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nwadinobi said the competition will encourage the students to learn more; to know that hard work pays and also to foster a spirit of healthy competition in them.

Dr. Nwadinobi stated that the competition falls in line with the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo that every Anambra child be equipped with at least one skill and praised the performances of the students.

Speaking, Evangelist Leo Ewuzie, Mr. Chukwuma Ochokwu and Comrade Onyeka Uzowulu commended the foundation for providing the students with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and creativity beyond the classroom.

They encouraged schools and students not to shy away from competitions, which they said would prepare them for the larger society and also inspire them to pursue excellence in their academics and life endeavors.

The convener, Reverend Ifeanyi Chukwuma appreciated schools and parents who honoured their invitation while congratulating the winners and participants of various categories.

For Spelling Bee, Junior Category, Maranatha Excellence and Unique School took first position, Awada Secondary School took second position while Lady Hannah Mission Secondary School took third position.

For Quiz Competition, Awada Secondary School took first position, Lady Hannah Misssion Secondary School took second position while All Saints Secondary School took third position.

For Talent Hunt, Junior Category, Union Secondary School took first position, Awada Secondary School took second position while All Saints Secondary School took third position.

For the Talent Hunt, Senior Category, Lady Hannah Mission Secondary School took first position, Robertson Secondary School took second position while Restoration Secondary School took third position.

among the schools that participated in the competition include Awada Secondary School, Union Secondary School, Maranatha and Unique Secondary School, Choice De Immaculate Secondary School, and All Saints Secondary School.
