Anambra Govt Appeals To Residents Against Blocking Drainage Systems

Anambra State government has appealed to residents and traders in the state to support the government’s development programmes by desisting from indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the drainage systems.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Managing Director, Operations Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere while speaking said emphasized on the need to allow easy flow of water and avoid incidence of flooding during the rainy season.

Comrade Anere also urged the residents to assist the government in cleaning up clogged drainages in their respective areas and shops, stressing that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is poised to provide more massive infrastructure and address other basic needs of the people as well as protect life and property.

The OCHA brigade boss made the appeal while sealing off some shops at Zik’s Avenue, Eke Awka and Ugwu-Orji all in Awka South council area of the state over clogged drainage systems in their shops. 

Comrade Anere commended the Soludo administration for quality projects being executed in the state and maintained that the current administration is geared towards safeguarding its infrastructure as well as protecting the life and property of tcitizens in the overall interest of the state.

He assured the people of the state that all that is needed to be corrected will be carried out before the rainy season fully sets in and appealed to them to continue to support and cooperate with the government’s efforts to provide more dividends of democracy.
