The Anambra State Government has demolished Airtight Guest House and Bar, located near Y-Junction in Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area, over its alleged use for unlawful activities.
The action followed a Saturday night raid by Agunaechemba security operatives, during which a large quantity of illicit drugs, a firearm, and individuals reportedly involved in prostitution were discovered on the premises.
the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi who supervised the demolition, stated that the activities carried out at the facility violated the state’s homeland security laws, justifying the government’s decision.
Emeakayi further disclosed that the property has been forfeited to the state government. He also cautioned landlords and property owners to regularly monitor their buildings and ensure they are not used for illegal activities by tenants.
