The Anambra State Government has reassured its willingness and commitments to reviving the water sector by bringing lasting solutions to the water facilities in the State to enhance the provision of portable water for domestic uses to the citizens, making Anambra the water hub and smart mega State.
This assurance was made known through the Anambra State Water Resources Management Office – Urban Water Supply Asset Holdings Corporation (ASUWAHC), led by the Managing Director, Mr. Ikeobi Ejiofor, during a scheduled on the spot impact assessment inspection at the water facility at Onitsha.
The Managing Director was accompanied by the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Chukwuemeka Julius, and other technical members of the Ministry.
In a standard and strategic bid to achieve this noble feat and actualize Mr. Governor’s mantra of liveable and prosperous State, the Ministry has expanded its scope of operation and engagement, as the services of the water team from Enugu State has been engaged to critically and constructively brainstorm for proactive measures that will meet up with the morden prospective sustainable water supply to the state.
Speaking to the press, Ikeobi maintained that the State Government has been exclusively responsive and very determined in its willingness to revamp and revalue the water sector through several deciphered initiatives targeted at providing portable water for consumption and other domestic uses.
“We appealed with various stakeholders, communities, Igwe in council, religious institutions, and corporate bodies to essentially and collectively support Mr. Governor’s initiatives of largely investing in the area of water supply, noting that the drive to ensure the achievement of the Sustainable water supply is hugely beneficial and result oriented.”
