Anambra Govt To Establish New College Of Nursing And Midwifery In Aguata LGA

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike says Anambra State Goverment has gotten approval to establish a brand new College of Nursing and Midwifery in the Ekwulobia axis, Aguata Local Goverment Area.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Dr. Obidike disclosed this during the 2024 First Quarter Health Sector Partnership meeting organized by the State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Speaking during the two day programme, the Health Commissioner appreciated all the development partners working in the state, especially the WHO, for their invaluable support to Ndi Anambra in terms of providing effective healthcare delivery.

Obidike explained that the essence of the meeting was for the state and their partners to review what they have done in the past year, examine their weaknesses and successes with a view to adhering strictly with their annual operational guidelines.

He revealed that the state wants to establish the new nursing school where they will be training prospective nurses that would help to raise the state’s human resources on health and pointed out that the school would kick off in the next 14 months.
