Anambra Govt To Monitor Filling Stations With Tampered Meters, Adulterated Products

The commissioner of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Barr. Anthony Ifeanya,
says the ministry is ready to embark on an aggressive monitoring of filling stations across the state, with a view to apprehending those that tampered with their meters.

Barr. Ifeanya who announced this to the press in Awka the state capital, warned perpetrators to desist forthwith or face the full weight of the law.

The Commissioner also admonished those selling adulterated fuel upon exorbitant prices to retrace their steps.

Worried about the uncountable complains that are being lodged in his office on daily basis by inhabitants of the state on the two criminal acts, Ifeanya, who described the acts as cheating and inhumane, especially in this hard time, declared that it is unacceptable to the state government.

While listing the dangers of adulterated Petroleum products to include higher emissions of dangerous gas, air pollution and inferno, which according to him, could lead to loss of lives and property, Barrister Ifeanya frowned at the get-rich-quick syndrome of some people even when it involves colossal loss of life and economic wastes.
