Anambra Govt Warns Traders Over Dumping Of Refuse On Roads

The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anagor has frowns at traders who dump refuse on the roads thereby defacing the aesthetics of the capital city and its environs.

Angel Network News reports that Anagor made this revelation in an interview in Amawbia recently.

The mayor who specifically issued out the warning to traders at Oye Amawbia market against disposing their refuse on the road, said the warning has become necessary as such practices have become more rampant despite the government’s efforts to promote an environmental-friendly state. 

Mr Anagor further warned the defaulters that they will be prosecuted and punished in accordance with the extant laws of the land. 

The Awka South Mayor advised the traders to imbibe the culture of keeping their surroundings clean as the council area is always open to listen and assist them achieve their goals at all times.

Meanwhile, Mr Anagor who revealed that the Chairman of the market is currently serving suspension served on him by the council area for various irregularities and infractions while his vice is to act in his capacity until when he serves out his sanction following the state government’s directives, asked them to continue to promote peace, love and harmony in the market.
