Anambra Guber: YPP Candidate Chukwuma Appoints Okagbue As Running Mate

The candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for the November 8th 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Sir Paul Chukwuma has unveiled Hon. Uzo Okagbue as his running mate.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Chukwuma after unveiling Okagbue, aide to former Anambra governor, Willie Obiano, as his running mate said:

“Uzu is a fitting choice for my progressive vision for Anambra State. God has made it possible for us to agree in one voice on who should be our deputy governorship candidate.

“We consulted widely, and involved party stakeholders, religious stakeholders, my campaign team, my family, God other relevant stakeholders across the 21 local government area of the State.

“I’m proud and excited to present to you a refined gentleman who I have worked with for a while now and found in him a true representation of one with the spirit of Anambra.

“A patriotic citizen and one who is eager to ensure that the glory and shining light which Anambra is known for is restored. I have found in him a friend and brother and one who Anambra people can rely on.”

Sir Chukwuma expressed confident that with Okagbue and his long time grassroot mobilization strategies, the party is fully position to take over power from the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) led by governor Chukwuma Soludo.

In his acceptance speech, Okagbue said he was ready to partner with Chukwuma to give Anambra the development that she deserves.

“I will work hard to achieve our manifesto at the background and that is what I know how best to do. I will support Chukwuma to bring a message of hope, freedom and better ways to do things to Anambra.

“In the coming months it will be clear that there is no better candidate in the race than Chukwuma. I’m happy that he found me worthy to join him on this ticket.

“I will bring to bear my track record of delivery and I will support him to move Anambra forward.” Okagbue said
