Anambra State Judicial has held its 2024 legal year with the theme: “Advancing Judicial excellence in the 21st century”
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Chief Judge of Anambra State Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu in his speech said Anambra is a very high litigious state in Nigeria and the number of law suits filed and determined in a year is only second to Lagos.
” As at today, Anambra State Judicial has 30 Honourable Judges including the Chief Judge, 71 learned Magistrate of various cadres and and 29 Presidents of customary court”. Anyachebelu said.
Earlier, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Anglican Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim in his sermon at St Faith Cathedral Church Awka during church service,
reminded members of the judiciary arm of government that God’s evaluation is a must for every person, especially those in various leadership positions.
Bishop Ibezim said that God is interested in using the judiciary to save Nigeria from impunity or there will be a revolution, adding that to get things right, truth must continue to flow from the Altar of God.
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who spoke through his Chiefs of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, on good relationship between the three arms of government, said that it has helped the state to achieve much in terms of development, assuring that his administration will continue to operate open door policy, and uses its meager resources to attend to different needs of the state.
Thanking Bishop Ibezim for inspiring and challenging members of the judiciary on doing with their positions, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, called for continued prayers of the church.
