The member representing Onitsha North one Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. MiMi Azikiwe says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) performed well during the just concluded Governorship election.

Network News (ANN) at her office in Awka on Thursday, maintained that the electoral process was successfully in her polling unite and Constituency as a whole.
“INEC did a good job considering the fact that the Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan
was recently appointed and the Anambra State governorship election was his first assignment.
” After the election, before 8:pm, about about 90 percent of the result have been uploaded already. I arrived at my polling unite by 7 am, and and around 9, voting has already commenced.
” There was no stress, no rancor and INEC conducted themselves very well. Just as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assured, the election was free, fair and credible. INEC delivered”. She said.
On areas where INEC need to improve, Hon. Azikiwe called for more trainings. She however, commended the adhoc staffs and corpers who assisted in making the process go smoothly.
Speaking on the performance of the security agencies, the lawmaker maintained that apart from the unfortunate incident that claimed the life of a councillor in Orumba local government, there was no security bridges.
” The presence of different security agencies made the election more organized. The voters were organized and it was hitch-free”.
