Honourable Justice Chukwunonye Azuka has been sworn-in as the member representing Onitsha North one constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly.
ANN reports that Hon. Azuka replaces Douglas Egbouna who was removed at the court of appeal.
Anambra Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided the administration of the oath at plenary on Tuesday, congratulated Azuka on his election.
Hon. Azuka while speaking to state house of assembly correspondents after plenary said he will perform his function as a lawmaker to the best of his ability and in accordance with the constitution of Nigeria, the law and rules of the Anambra state house of assemblyÂ
” I will not disappoint my people. I made a promise to them that i will do their bidens. There are few fundamental things i know that needs to be done in my constituency, starting from the youths who needs employment and reorientation.Â
“For the aged, we do not have a common place for them and we also lack a town hall in my constituencyÂ
” I will go back and hear from my people so as to know what they really want”. Hon. Azuka stated
Speaking on his victory at the court, Azuka maintained that the court remains the hope of the common man.
” Justice took it place and i thank God for everything. We have always depended on the judiciary and they did not disappoint. The court remains the hope of the common man”.
ANN gathered that Hon. Justice Chukwunonye Azuka have been issued with certificate of return by the Independent Nationa Electoral Commission (INEC) as prescribed on section 94 of the Federal Republic of NigeriaÂ
