The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba has commended the proactivity of Anambra state government in ensuring that would-be flood displaced persons this year will not suffer untold hardships.

Hon. Obalum-Udoba who is the house committee chairman on transport while speaking to reporters on the level of preparations by the state government for the welfare of the potential flood displaced persons, noted that the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that the people of the flood prone local governments will have a sense of relief this year unlike in previous years.
The lawmaker commended the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and other agencies working with them for the training and sensitization they have given to the people of the riverine communities so far, and expressed optimism that things will get better this year.
Hon. Obalum-Udoba called on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to collaborate with (SEMA) in ensuring that the people of Anambra state do not suffer hardship as a result of the impending flood.
“The federal government should as a matter of urgency and national importance find a permanent solution to the perennial flood disaster threatening most states across the country, including Anambra as the yearly deluge damage cannot be quantified.
He further commended Governor Soludo for his numerous developmental strides as well as the various innovative models his administration has adopted in order to implement his vision of bequeathing to Ndi Anambra, a liveable and prosperous homeland.
