Anambra Lawmaker ‘Okechukwu’ Gives More Details On Passed 2025 Budget

The member representing Anaocha two constituency, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu says
the Executive will record over 80 percent implementation of the 2025 budget.

Hon. Okechukwu who is the House Committee Chairman On Fiance And Appropriation, speaking in a media briefing said the budget was passed as presented by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The lawmaker said that though the overall budget size was not altered, there were realignments between and across Ministries, Department and Agencies within the envelope.

Hon. Okechukwu revealed that the recurrent expenditure is N139, 507 ,955, 604 representing 23% of the entire budget, while the capital estimate is N467, 473, 201, 837 representing 77%.

“The budget size did not have any change from what the governor presented but there were Internal changes, some codes were changed to enable government access funds lying there to meet urgent needs.

“Some institutions like Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University and Nwafor Orizu College of Education had more funds allocated to their recurrent expenditures and subvention to enable them run more effectively.

“There were certain codes that were changed in the ministry of health both in recurrent and capital expenditure but the changes did not affect the budget sizes allocated to the ministry”. Okechukwu said.
