The member representing Aguata one constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Anayo Emmanuel Okpalaeke on Saturday July 6th 2024 gave account of his stewardship in the past one year
Hon. Okpalaeke who is the House Committee Chairman on Education while presenting his score card said his constituency has developed following his developmental strides in many sector.
Addressing his constituents, Okpalaeke who is also the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Environment disclosed that he has sponsored many motions, highlighting several key areas of focus over the past year, including infrastructure development, empowerment, education, healthcare, employment amongst others
The lawmaker noted that these initiatives were driven by the needs and aspirations of ndi Aguata Constituency One, aiming to improve the quality of life for all residents, while assuring he would continue to represent them even better in order to bring greater developments to the constituency.
Hon. Okpalaeke praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his developmental strides in Aguata One constituency and assured to continue to work with him to address security challenges in the area.
In his words “I moved a motion calling on the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles C. Soludo CFR to direct the MD/CEO of Anambra State watershed and climate change agency (ANSEWCCA) to as matter of urgency compile a comprehensive list of all active erosion sites in Anambra State and cause it’s submission to the senate Ad-hoc committee constituted for erosion matters.
” I sponsored a motion calling on Mr. Governor Prof. Charles C. Soludo CFR the Governor of Anambra State to direct the Honourable Commissioner for Women affairs and Social welfare and other relevant MDAs to enforce strict restrictions of children hawking during school hours in the state.
“I joined the Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze on the inspection of all ongoing road projects in the three senatorial zones and also joined different committees to oversight different MDAs and contribute immensely to the development of the State.
” In the area of education, i ensured that Aguata one Constituency benefits from the deployment of the newly recruited teachers and stopped the unfair posting out of seasoned teachers from my constituency.
” I did my bit in ensuring that my constituents benefitted from the teachers recruitment and assisted in securing Jobs for my constituents both in the health sector and also assisted my intelligent constituents in securing admission into tertiary institutions.
” I’m also working round the clock to ensure that Akpo Comprehensive health centre commences full service health care delivery.
” I attracted the ongoing renovation of Schools in my Constituency and also
attracted the ongoing drilling of boreholes and renovation of Primary health centers in my Constituency.
“I attracted the supply of educational equipment for selected schools in my Constituency.
“I presented the plight of our people to the appropriate body for possible action when i attended the public hearing on gully erosion conducted by the House Committee on Environment of the Federal House of Representative in Abuja
“I attracted the ongoing road construction of Achina-Onneh-Agbudu-Ogboji, Ezira-Achina Road. Nkpologwu-Uga road with a spur at Amesi. Uga OTY road through Nweke Caleb to Obizi road. Reconstruction of Umuchu-Umunze road (which was a dead trap).
“I have sponsored and co-sponsored Executive and Private Member bills and Motions in line with the Five (5) pillars Agenda of Mr Governor in making Anambra livable and Prosperous Smart Mega City where people can Live, Learn, Work, Invest, Relax & Enjoy.
“Is also on record that I haven’t missed any plenary session since the inception of the 8th Assembly
” I empowered Mr. Ifeanyi Obiagwu
from Uga with equipment after his business center was burnt down by hoodlums and also empowered my constituency by providing food stuffs for festivity”. Okpalaeke said.
In his address, the Transition Committee Chairman, of Aguata Council Area, Hon. Chibueze Oforbuike praised Okpalaeke for his dedication and effective representation, noting that he has shown exemplary leadership and a genuine commitment to the development of Aguata one constituency.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Oforbuike commended Okpalaeke for
attracting the dividends of democracy to Aguata one constituency. He described the lawmaker as a man of his words, an inspiration who is toeing the path of social welfare governance that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is known for.
Contributing, AGPA Chairman Aguata LGA, Hon. Vitalis Okoloako, Member Anambra Judicial Service Commission Hon. Ezeoke, Prof. Phil Eze amongst others in their separate speeches commended Hon. Okpalaeke, noting that he has not only fulfilled his campaign promises but has also gone above and beyond to ensure that Aguata one Constituency One progresses on all fronts.
During the event, the constituents also drew the attention of the lawmaker and Governor Soludo to their challenges such as insecurity and erosion, urging them to come to their aid.
