Anambra NSCDC Commandant Hits On Change In Tactics To Combat Vandalism

The Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) Olatunde Maku has charged officers and men to  brace up , be  more proactive and focused in performing their constitutional given responsibilities..

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Commandant Maku stated this on Friday at a meeting he held with Command’s management team, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, tactical Commanders, heads of formation, Departmental and Sectional heads.

In his address, the State NSCDC helmsman reiterated the directives of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr.  Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to Corps personnel at the just concluded strategic meeting to work in tandem with the NSCDC  establishment Act,  Standard Operating Procedure and the Code of Conduct guiding effective discharge of duties. 

He disclosed a massive shift in the Command’s strategy to deal with vandalism of the  nation’s critical infrastructure, willful damage to power and telecommunication installations , illegal oil bunkering, checkmating black market and petroleum products racketeering, adulterated petroleum products,  illegal private security outfits, illegal mining,  farmers- herdsmen clashes, and sabotage among others.

The State Commandant expressed the CG’s heartiest gratitude to officers and men for their commitment and doggedness in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), fight against oil theft and illegal dealings in petroleum products, Illegal mining of solid minerals, violent attacks on school and protection of agro allied industries. 

Furthermore, Olatunde Maku assured the personnel that, the Corps administration has their welfare at heart and encouraged them to exhibit a high sense of professionalism in performing their lawful duties.

While asserting that superintending officers will be held accountable for any unprofessional conduct of officers under  their watch, Maku, said that severe sanctions await  line supervisors found to have compromised the Corps mandate of securing critical national assets or  deliberately flouts the CG’s directives. 

He assured members of the public that the Command will sustain its  proactive approach to crime fighting, focusing on preemptive measures to thwart criminal activities before they occur through the deployment of its operational assets to all the nooks and crannies of Anambra State.

The NSCDC state boss who described the populace as active partners in the Corps collective pursuit of peace and security,  urged them  to remain vigilant and collaborate closely with NSCDC to end all forms of criminal activities in the state.

” I have called you here today to brief you on the marching order given to us by the Commandant General to cascade his directives to all personnel of the Corps. 

” Take note that it is not business as usual, we must sit up to justify our responsibilities. Our work here is to do that which the government has asked us to do.

” You must as well take this message down to your subordinates, let us do that which is right ” Maku said.
