The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) Anambra State Command is set to strengthen the bond of synergy and collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to arrest and prosecute any individual or group of persons who dare to extort prospective candidates ahead of the commencement of 2026 JAMB registration.
JAMB Anambra State Coordinator, Dr. Dinah Ifunanya Obiano while speaking on Thursday during a familiarization visit at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Awka, expressed appreciation for the great role being played by the Corps towards the success of the UTME and urged them to see their engagements as a call to national duty.
Obiano emphasized the need for the collaboration to be sustained, assuring that all necessary provisions have been made to ensure that the 2026 examination is conducted in a serene environment across the State.
In his address, Commandant Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC Anambra State Commandant, while welcoming the JAMB coordinator, described the visit as an important step towards strengthening the collaboration and fostering a productive working relationship between the NSCDC and JAMB.
“Ahead of the commencement of 2026 UTME registration, the command will deploy massively to various registration centres not only to secure your facilities but to ensure that prospective candidates are not shortchanged.
“Let me also assure you that the command will not allow unpatriotic citizens or smart aliens to extort prospective candidates; whoever is caught going against government-stipulated procedure will definitely face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.
The State Command helmsman acknowledged the synergy between NSCDC and JAMB, which has yielded positive results in curbing examination malpractice, closure of non-accredited registration centres, and apprehending of syndicates exploiting prospective candidates during registration.
