…Government should also look into social welfare issues of ndi-Anambra
The chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu has lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration for responding positively to the demands by the citizens of the state on the poor state of major roads.
Dr, Odogwu, who made the remark in a statement in Awka, appealed to the state government to also look into social welfare issues of the citizenry and come up with government policies that will serve as social safety nets and economic stimulus packages that will help cushion the effects of the country’s economic situation.
He decried the level of insecurity in the state which has increased spate of mindless killings, armed robbery and kidnappings especially in the capital city and called on the state government and security agencies to nip the ugly trend in the bud.
ANN reported that Professor Chukwuma Soludo government signed an agreement with contractors to deliver projects that will outlive two decades before the contracts were awarded to them. The state government called on community leaders to monitor the activities of contractors handling all road projects across the state to ensure delivery of quality works.
