The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu Phd on Saturday 18th January 2025, Flag-off his re-election campaign at Angel Network News (ANN) Chapel in Udoka Housing Estate Awka.
Dr. Odogwu in his campaign speech, commended all members of NUJ for their support in the past three years. He called on ANN Chapel members to vote him back as the Chairman of the union.
The NUJ Chairman expressed confidence that he will win the election and that he will achieve some of the things he failed to achieve in his first tenue.
” There will be more trainings, sensitization and upliftment of NUJ members. We will build and mentor future leaders, in my second term”. Odogwu assures.
Vice Chairman ANN Chapel, Comrade Okechukwu Cyril-Nwuche PhD, in his welcome address, assured Odogwu of all the necessary support. He promised the NUJ Chairman that his victory is assured.
The Director-General of Odogwu Campaign Team, Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna in his address said the three years in office of the NUJ Chairman has been a success.
Dr. Obiefuna while soliciting for votes and support, beckoned on all the members of ANN Chapel to return Odogwu for second term because has the capacity and anticident to take NUJ Anambra Council to enviable highest.
Mother-General of ANN Chapel, Prof. Chinyere Okunna in her speech described Odogwu as a humble scholar who has distinguished himself in the profession.
Prof. Okunna who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor Paul’s University, Awka and also a member of ANN Chapel, maintained that Odogwu deserves a second term considering his performance in the last three years. She urged all members to be puntual on the election day.
Secretary of NUJ Anambra Council, Comrade Aloysius Ofodile in his remark commended Odogwu for his leadership qualities, stating that the union will be stronger if he returns as the Chairman. He urged all to play their part.
In their separate speech, Comrade Ukpa Ewa, Comrade Chibuzor Obidike, Comrade Felix Oti and Comrade Emeka Chiaghanam assured Odogwu of their full support in making sure he is re-elected for second term.
Other Members of ANN Chapel who were at the flag off includes Sir. Emma Ifesinachi, Comrade Ifeanyi Okonkwo, Comrade Chiamaka Ezeadum, Comrade Ifeyinwa Iloanya and Comrade Ebuka Oguocha.
