In a significant ceremony at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State recently, 31 Corps members from the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II were officially inaugurated into key leadership positions.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Anambra State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma in her speech, emphasized on the importance of leadership and responsibility.
Mrs. Iruma outlined the crucial role of leadership within the camp structure, urging the newly appointed officials to treat their responsibilities with the utmost seriousness and diligence.
She called on Corps members to extend the same level of respect and cooperation to their peers as they do to camp officials.
and encouraged the new leaders to prioritize the well-being of their peers.
“True leadership is not about power or authority, but about serving the people you lead. Always keep the interests of your followers at heart, and lead with integrity and compassion”.
The new leadership team includes ten Platoon Leaders, three Corps Camp Directors, and sixteen Hostel Governors.
These roles are vital for maintaining discipline, organization, and the overall welfare of Corps members throughout their orientation.
The three Corps Camp Directors inaugurated are: Ashimi Nusiratu Omojadesola from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Emeh Laura Chinecherem from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and Ezekiel Victor Udo from Federal Polytechnic Nekede.
In similar development, a Camp Court headed by Camp Directors and whose members includes other Camp officials and two Corps Lawyers to handle disciplinary cases The two camp Corps Lawyers are: Jaja Marvelle Tamuno-Igoni from Edo State University, and Ehwarieme Oghenerugba from Edo State University Uzairue.
