Anambra Physical Planning Board Says No More Construction After 7: PM

Barr. Maduekwe while speaking with the press after defending his 2025 budget before Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on lands said;

“We find out that during building collapse, those who usually die, sleep at construction site. According to the law, no one is allowed to build without permit. We have strengthen the approval process.

” Their are composery insurance policies that developers must take. Its like third party insurance. If you dont want to do comprehensive, you must do third party in order to take care of any demages.

” Anybody that is building must take contractor insurance. There will be proper valuation before building.

” Our job is to plan Anambra and control development in the state so that it doesn’t become a slump.

“We will alain with the objective of the government to make Anambra a livable, sustainable homeland that is secure.

” Governor Chukwuma Soludo intends to bring a bill to the Anambra State House of Assembly which will amend the current law for physical planning.

” This law will enpower different agencies such as the planning authority which will be in-charge of the permit, building control agency, who will control buildings and the urben regeneration.

“Soludo’s vision is that by the time he leaves office, Anambra will be totally regenerated.

” We will continue to provide things that will assist Soludo in making Anambra sustainable, livable. We are championing the cause to grow connectivity.

” Governor Soludo is focused on developing more cities such is Onitsha and Awka 2.0, the new government house.

” Anambra is a mega city that should be technology driven, and the Governor is intentional about it”.

Chairman House Committee on lands Hon. Jude Akpua assured the Physical planning board that the 8th Assembly will assist them in making sure that they performed better in 2025.
