Police operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, Anambra State, yesterday, May 10, rescued two kidnapped victim at a suspected terrorists’ camp in Ifite Ogbunike, Oyi LGA.
Disclosing this development to ANN crime correspondent, the Anambra State Police Commissioner, Echeng Echeng stated that the surprise raid, saw two of the gang of five ‘neutralized.’
Two rocket launchers, 4 AK 47 rifles, four magazines, one pump action, live ammunitions and a black Lexus SUV were among the many items recovered from the camp.
He then disclosed that security uniforms of the Police and the Military were recovered from the camp too.
ANN gathered from an unofficial source that members of this gang were one of the splinter groups masquerading under the shadow of secessionist movement to unleash mayhem on the common man.
