Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) has
arrested 64 touts and one chance suspected robber in various parts of Onitsha
ANN recalls that SASA were inauguration recently by Governor Chukwuma Soludo at Onitsha.
Parading the suspects, the SASA Director of Operations, Mr. Solomon Onwuemene said that the squad commenced operations immediately after their inauguration by Governor Soludo.
Mr. Onwuemene told newsmen that the suspects were arrested at Upper Iweka, Bridge Head and Chisco Motor Park respectively.
He made it clear that the squad will make Onitsha and other cities in the state uncomfortable for touts and those who engage in criminal activities in Anambra state.
According to the SASA Director of Operations, they are determined to rid the state of all forms of social vices and advised those who derive pleasure in touting to make themselves productive by keying into Governor Soludo’s youthful policies and programmes.
Mr. Onwuemene revealed that all those arrested would be tried according to the law to serve as deterrent to others.
