The Anambra State Christmas Carol event was held at Ekwueme Square in Awka, bringing together residents and leaders to spread holiday cheer. Notable dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba, Mayor of Njikoka Local Government, Barr. Sly Ezeokwenwa, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Catholic Bishop of Awka.
The Christmas Carol event featured melodious hymns and carols, filling the air with joy and festivity. The Mayor of Njikoka Local Government, National Chairman of APGA, and the Catholic Bishop of Awka joined in the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of community and unity in the state.
Themed “Emmanuel God With Us”, the event organised by the Anambra State Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, took place at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, and attracted many dignitaries, including government functionaries, the clergy, among whom were the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, national leadership of APGA, women groups, youth representatives, among others.
Speaking shortly after the event, the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji, appreciated all who attended the event; which he said was part of activities to usher in the Christmas celebration, thanking Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making the event possible.
However, the event provided an opportunity for leaders to extend their warmest wishes to the people of Anambra, promoting a spirit of love and togetherness.
As Anambra State celebrates the holiday season, this event serves as a reminder of the power of community and the importance of coming together to spread joy and kindness.
