Anambra State Government Shares Digital Tablets to ASUBEB ICT and Administrative Officers

In line with the State Government’s resolve to digitize the State School System, the ICT and Administrative Officers of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB in the 21 Local Government Areas of the State have received digital tablets to facilitate their operations.

Presenting the digital tablets to the officers at the ASUBEB Headquarters, Awka, the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi stated that the digital tool was to enhance their capacity to deliver their services promptly and with greater precision.

A total of 1,068 ICT teachers in the State basic education system have all received the digital tablets while the 21 Administrative Officers have also received the digital to enhance the overall digitization of administration, teaching and learning experience.

She charged the officers to make effective use of the digital tool for data management, and result uploads to enable parents to access their children’s results online, adding that the gesture was in line with the Mr. Governor’s policy of ‘Technology Everywhere, and Everything Technology”.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, the ICT Officer, Aguata Local Government Area, Mrs Chinyelu Morah expressed joy with the Governor and the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC for extending the digital tool to them, pointing out that the job of transmission of pupils results, monitoring of staff attendance, and other data management will be properly documented in real time.

Also speaking, the Head of Administration, Anambra East Council Area, Mrs Tochukwu Nwachukwu while commending the Flag-off of the distribution of Teaching and Learning Materials in addition to the distribution of the digital tablets to the Admin Officers, describing it as an immeasurable tool for information and data collection and management at monthly and quarterly bases in the Board.

Mrs Nwachukwu described data as the basis of administration, adding that the tablets will facilitate timely submission of monthly and quarterly returns to the board.

In their separate comments, the Board Secretary, Lady Loveline Mgbemena, the Board Member 1, Hon. Ify Anatune, the Board Member 3, Lady Theresa Azodo, and the Director of Administration, ASUBEB, Awka, Mrs Florence Chinweze commended the State Governor Soludo for his commitment in digitizing the basic education sector, stressing that Anambra has never had it so good.
