Anambra State House of Assembly Plenary 01st March 2022: Report

The speaker Hon Uche Okafor on Tuesday welcomed everyone present at the plenary and also pray to God for grace to do only those things that will promote the unity of Anambra State and Nigeria at large.

The votes and proceedings of the last plenary was checked and carried by the honorable members, present at the plenary.

Hon Emmanuel O. Nwafor member representing Orumba south constituency moved a motion that the governor Chief Willie Obiano direct the commissioner for tourism and diaspora and any other relevant agency to rehabilitate the ogba cave in Owerre Ezukala for tourism purposes.

He stated that ogba cave is one of the longest cave in Nigeria situated at Owerre Ezukala in Orumba south Local government area of Anambra State.

He opined that tourism is one of the major revenue drive for most developed country but ogba cave has turned into a danger zone instead of recreational facility for tourist attraction.

He expressed his worries that Anambra State governor have invested in this cave, without realizing any revenue, due to the absent of some major facilities.

Hon Emmanuel O. Nwafor argued that without completing the ogba cave, the money invested in it so far would be a waste.

He stressed that the cave is the only source of generating revenue in Orumba south Local government.

Hon Pete Chima Ibida member representing Njikoka 2 constituency supports the motion for rehabilitating Ogba cave and he said that, it won’t just be a parting gift for Orumba south but for the whole Anambra State.

He stressed that the trending thing now is tourism. Citing Ghana and Kenya as the best place him and his family loved so much because of tourism. He plead with the governor to make Ogba cave a modern tourist center.

Anambra Assembly calls on the governor Chief Willie Obiano to direct the commissioner for tourism and diaspora and any other relevant agency to rehabilitate the ogba cave in Owerre Ezukala for tourism purposes.

Meanwhile Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka south constituency sympathize with the people of Ebenebe over their lost in the recently unknown gunmen attack in the community.

And calls on the state security to please step up over this recent killings.

Also in today’s plenary, Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor lamented that his constituency is bleeding seriously from attack by unknown gunmen.

He cried that killings, kidnapping and burning of houses is in high rate now in his constituency without seeing the security forces do anything.

He plead with the state governor and the chief security officer to do something about this recent uproar.

Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka south constituency moved a motion for adjournment to Tuesday 8th of March 2022

Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor member representing Ekwusigo constituency seconded the motion.
