ANAMBRA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PLENARY, 18TH NOV, 2021

The plenary started with an opening prayer led by the honorable speaker RT. HON. Uche Okafor, the speaker also acknowledge the presences of all those present in the plenary. Angel Network News Reports.

After carrying the votes and proceedings as required in order 3 of the state house of representative paper order, the speaker moved to order 7 and the chairman House committee on public petitions Hon. Emeka Aforka member representing Orumba North Constituency presented the petitions, he said there were three petitions that are ready to be presented before the state house of representative.

The petitions
Mrs Francis Nwankwo petition captioned ‘’petition on the sell of a plot of land at isiagu by AHOCO savings and loans, ahoco savings and loans limited is one of the subsidiary of ahoco agency’’ the petitioner was alleging that she paid for plot of land because Anambra state housing cooperation was in charge of ahoco then, Ahoco savings and loans as said earlier was a subsidiary under housing cooperation but surprisingly to the petitioner the portion of land could not be allocated to her, after paying all that is required for her to pay and till today she have not gotten a parcel of land , she pleads with the house to help her recover the land this petition was presented to the house by Hon. Emeka Aforka.

The Hon. Speaker of the house of representative asked if ahoco estate is still in existence, and Hon Emeka Aforka said that ahoco is still in existence but the subsidiaries like ahoco savings and loans is not fully in existence and he added that it is the Commissioner of finance that will say more on ahoco loans and savings.

The speaker questioned that since ahoco estate existed as developers years back and the petitioner is just coming up with this now? And Hon, Emeka aforka said maybe the petitioner just find out recently that he could not access any portion of the purported land, the speaker said that due diligence should be uphold on the petition and the petition should be presented after when all fact must have been gathered.

Hon. Noble Chukwunonso Igwe member representing ogbaru 1 constituency presented the second petition to the State house of representative, he presented the petition by G . O Eze onwuka and associate against Anambra state housing development commission, the petition is entitled ‘’trespass, manipulation of justice, demolition of block wall fence and intimidation by the Anambra state housing development cooperation, a call for your immediate intervention, the petition is about a plot of land at Ngozika housing estate phase 2, that was allocated to the petitioner and the Anambra state housing development commission took it from the person without paying the appropriate compensation , so they plead with the house to intervene so they can get their right emolument. The speaker of the state house of representative RT. HON. OKAFOR assigned the chairman house committee on public petitions Hon. Emeka Aforka to take note of the petition and act accordingly.

The third petition was presented by Hon. Barr. Uzoma Innocent Eli, member representing Onitsha south 1 constituency he presented a petition from B. O UMEH Ezinwa and co and the petitioner claims that Anambra state government illegally acquired their client property they plead for the release of six hecters of land at ITUKU AND NWANU lands situated at nkwele village Awka that the land be released to Nwankwo Anyakora , Ndibe Okrocha and Okeke Igbonagu families of umunamoke village nkwele Awka. The speaker asked the chairman house committee on public petitions Hon. Emeka Aforka to take note of the petition and act accordingly with his well delegated committee members.

Moving forward to personal explanation
Hon. Oyebuchi Agustine Offor member representing Ekwusigo constituency, that decamped from PDP to APC last two month have made it clear to the house that he is going back to his former party PDP, Hon. Barr. Fabian Ezenwune member representing Idemili south constituency welcomes Hon. Onyebuchi back to PDP and call on all those that decamped to follow his steps and return back home to PDP that later they will decide on status because Hon. Onyebuchi was the minority leader before decamping.

Th deputy majority leader Hon. Emeka Aforka said that Hon. Onyebuchi could have come back to the winning party instead of his formal party PDP. He appeals to all those that defected from APGA to other party to please come back home and he further appealed to Onuowu, Hon. Nwokoye John in a special way to come back to his family but Onuowu in turn said he did not decamp to any party and he did not understand what the deputy majority leader is saying and that he is seeing it as a threat to his life, when asked to state his stand on the party issue by the speaker he quickly refused to speak saying that nobody should force words into his mind.

Hon. Engr. Emmanul O. Nwafor, member representing orumba south commended Hon onyebuchi Agustine Offor for his action in coming back to PDP.

The deputy majority leader Hon. Emeka Aforka moved a motion that the house be adjourned to Tuesday 7th December 2021. by 10am.

Hon. Noble Igwe seconded the motion moved by the deputy majority leader that the house be adjourned to 7th December.

Hon. Onyebuchi in supporting the motion for an adjournment, he quickly called on the PG’S AND IGWE’S of the communities in Amnambra State to help the security officers in fighting this issue of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, popularly known as Crystal Meth or ‘Mkpuru Mmiri’ in Igbo parlance, been used and abused by the youths.

Hon Obinna Chris Emenaka supported the motion for adjournment.

All the MDA’S ARE HEREBY INFORMED THAT THE TIMETABLE SCHEDULE FOR 2022 BUDGET PROPOSAL IS OUT AND ALL THE MDA’S ARE ENJOYED TO WORK WITH THE TIMETABLE AND IT WILL BE STARTING ON THE 23RD OF NOVEMBER 2021 being TUESDAY.

The bilateral discussion with MDA’S popularly called budget defence will start on Tuesday 23rd of November 2021.
