Anambra Assembly plenary session started with an opening prayer led by the honorable speaker Uche Okafor, he welcomed everyone present at the plenary.
The votes and proceedings of last plenary was checked and carried by the honorable members present at the plenary.
Uche Okafor the honorable speaker of the Anambra State house of assembly reads a letter from the governor.
He advised that two letters came from the governor before proceeding to read the first letter.
The first letter was dated March 28 2022.
The letter reads ” the right honorable speaker and members of Anambra State house of assembly, list of commissioner’s for confirmation.”
“Attached to the letter was the list of the nominees of commissioner’s of Anambra State, who shall constitute members of the council of the government, upon their confirmation by the house of assembly”.

Honorable speaker Uche Okafor disclosed that the curriculum vitae of the commissioner’s nominees was also attached to the letter.
The speaker Hon Uche Okafor refer the letter to the house Committee on screening, headed by Hon Paschal Agbodike for constitutional rights to be carried out and refered back to the house as soon as possible.
The second letter was also dated March 28th 2022.
The second letter reads ” the right honorable speaker and members of the state 7th Assembly. Letter for approval of number of special adviser’s.”
Governor of Anambra State, Prof; Charles Soludo requested the approval of 15 special adviser’s for the government of Anambra State.
The majority leader Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka south 1 constituency moved a motion that the house do resolve that a maximum of 15 special adviser’s be approved for the administration of the governor, Prof Charles Soludo.
The minority leader Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor member representing Ekwusigo constituency seconded the motion moved by Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor.
Meanwhile in today’s plenary Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor member representing Ekwusigo constituency moved a motion, calling on the executive governor of Anambra State Prof Charles Soludo to call the attention of the commissioner of police of Anambra State command to form police check points and patrol teams in designated areas of the state.
He stressed further that the incidence of armed robbery and kidnapping is in high speed.
He also said that the check points in Anambra State is nowhere to be found in Anambra roads.
He alleged that the absence of police check points and patrol teams in Anambra State have caused distress in the state.
He opined that if police check points and patrol teams returned to action, it will help in securing lives and properties of Anambra people.
Hon Emeka Aforka member representing Orumba North constituency seconded the motion moved by Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor.
Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor suggested that nothing is achievable in this present world without peace in the environment.
He lamented of various criminal offense happening in Anambra State.
Sighting the case of Mr. Kingsley Chukwuemeka Anyaelechi that just dedicated his child on Sunday and was shot dead on Monday.
Mentioning a lot of criminal offense like car theft, killings, abduction and a lot happening recently in Anambra state.
He plead with the governor to see to the security well being of the state.
Hon Emeka Aforka member representing Orumba North constituency supported and lamented that is disheartening to see security personnel not being properly taken care of.
He pray the governor to see to the well being of the security personnel because is not a thing of joy for them to use their personal money in running the affairs of the state.
Hon Pete Chima Ibida member representing Njikoka 2 constituency also supported the matter in discussion.
He moved a motion that the prayers of the motion moved by the minority leader be amended.
The amendment is that there should be inter mediate check points within the state.
He pray that the governor Prof Charles Soludo direct the commissioner of police to position inter mediate police check points in strategic areas in the state.
And also there should be check points in and around Anambra State.

To call the attention of the commissioner of police Anambra State command to return police check points at intermediate position’s in and around Anambra State.
On matter of concern.
Anambra Assembly deputy speaker cried out on the usual lose of quorum during each plenary.
Saying that the duty pose in their shoulder as representative and legislature is not a child’s play.
He said that to give Anambra people and those of their constituents adequate performance, they need fulfill their duty.
Part of their duty as he suggested was the discussion in the hallow chamber.
Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka south 1 constituency moved a motion for adjournment to Tuesday 5th of April 2022.
Hon Okechukwu Okoye member representing Aguata 2 constituency seconded the motion.
