State house of assembly approved names nominated for local government chairmen and members of transition committee send in by Chief Willie Obiano for a period of three months.
A short opening prayer was said by the Hon Speaker Rt Hon Uche Okafor, he notifed the house members on the letter send by the governor Chief Willie Obiano for the consideration of nominated local government chairmen and members of transition committee for election.
Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka south constituency moved a motion that the house should allow the nominated chairmen of the local government transition committee come into the chamber and Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor member representing Ekwusigo constituency seconded the motion.
Angel network news correspondent reported that Hon Obinna Chris Emenaka member representing Anambra east constituency, after letting the nominated chairmen into the chamber, he moved a motion that the list for the various local government to be considered for election be adopted by the Hon house except where there is changes, the concerned local government nominated chairmen should indicate. Hon Dr Okechukwu Okoye member representing Aguata 2 constituency seconded the motion.
The state house of assembly approved the whole list as send by the governor Chief Willie Obiano except for Nnewi South local government and Onitsha north local government.
In Nnewi South local government. Aguhageu Mathew who is dead is replaced by Mr Peter Ndukuba, Nduka Ann replaced by Anazemba Humphrey Ifeanyi and also replacing Uba Chukwumezie with Eze Emenike Marceleneous.
In Onitsha north local government. Mazeli Uchenna will be replaced with Egbuna Celestine Chianugo.
Hon Godwin Nnamdi Okafor moved a motion for adjournment to 1st of February 2022 and it was seconded by Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor.
