Anaocha Mayor, Ibekwe Commissions Solar-powered Borehole In Ichida

The local government Chairman of
Anaocha Council Area, Hon. Rome Ibekwe has commissioned a 60,000-liter water storage capacity and solar-powered borehole at Ichida to give the people of the community access to portable water.

Speaking at the event held at Ichida Civic Center, Ibekwe said his administration targets projects that meet the basic needs of Ndi Anaocha, stating that before assuming office, they conducted a survey to identify the most important challenges facing the local government and have been meeting them.

The Mayor identified that the water project brings to two projects carried out in Ichida by his administration with the road rehabilitation inclusive as he asked Ndi Ichida to guard the project jealously.

The local government Chairman thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for giving him the platform to serve his people.

In his remark, the traditional ruler of Ichida, Igwe Charles Ezeudogu who was represented by his palace secretary, Chief Innocent Ezike narrated the ordeal his people passed through to get access to portable water because of the topography of the community.

He commended Mayor Ibekwe for preservering to get water after the initial difficulties posed and prayed that God will continue to uplift him.

On his part, the Vice President General of Ichida, Mr Uchenna Ezeoke and the Woman Leader of APGA in Anaocha, Mrs Ije-Sunny Egbuna who is also an indigene of Ichida thanked Honourable Ibekwe for opening their eyes to the fact that democracy works.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the commissioning ceremony of the borehole was attended by stakeholders and other members of the community.
