…Mefor become ANN ambassador
Members of Angel Network News (ANN) Chapel on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information Anambra State Dr. Law Mefor at his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex Awka.
ANN Chapel Chairman Mr. Bonvera Onyebuchi Ndubisi in his speech stated that the essence of the visit is to welcome the new Commissioner to Anambra State and to identify with him.
Mr. Ndubisi described the information Commissioner as a media friendly personality who have love for journalists. He assured that the chapel will continue to project the good works of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
“Since you came in as the new Anambra Commissioner for Information, you have been interacting with journalists and have been attending the functions of the union. We commend you for hitting the ground running and ANN Chapel is ready to partner with the Ministry of Information”.
Responding Dr. Meyor urged ANN Chapel members to amplify the achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, stating that the performance of the present administration in Anambra deserves better and more publicity.
The Information Commissioner commended members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD for fair reportage.
Dr. Meyor emphisized that Anambra is blessed to have Soludo as the governor, describing him as a statesman. He revealed that he has come to change the pattern and strategy of information communication in Anambra State.
The Commissioner listed the numerous achievements and policies of the governor, stating that all parts of Anambra have felt the disruptive change of Soludo who has been a prudent and a leader with integrity.
” The awards Governor Soludo has received are deserving and a review of his performance as an intentional, purposeful and effective leadership and governance. He is not chasing clouds because he has already made name and fortunes for himself and is here to work for ndi Anambra.
The Chief Editor of ANN, Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna in a vote of thanks commended Dr. Law Mefor for showing solidarity to NUJ. He revealed that the essence of the visit is to have access to verified information from the Ministry.
Dr. Obiefuna identified misinformation as one of the problems hindering development. He assured Mefor that ANN Chapel is ready to partner with Anambra State Ministry of Information.
He advised the ministy to intensify its efforts on sensitization of ndi Anambra by going to communities to educate them on the government programmes.
Highlight of the courtesy visit is the endorsement of Dr. Law Mefor as an ambassador of ANN Chapel and presentation of gift to the Commissioner.
Other members of ANN Chapel who visited the Commissioner includes; Comrade Ifeanyi Okonkwo (Secretary), Comrade Daniel Nwankwo (Assistant Secretary), Comrade Ifeanyi Ndukwe (Financial Secretary) Comrade Felix Oti (Auditor) and Comrade Nnamdi Onuzulike.
