All Progressives Congress has revamped its central committee overseeing the upcoming national convention, appointing former Katsina governor Aminu Bello Masari as chairman in place of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who shifts to the treasurer role, the party announced Friday.
The reshuffle expands the National Convention Central Coordination Committee from 73 to 90 members, incorporating figures like Senator Barry Mpigi, ahead of the March 27-28, 2026 gathering set to elect new National Working Committee members.
APC National Secretary Surajudeen Basiru detailed the changes in a statement on the party’s X account, noting they followed “consultations with the party leadership and national stakeholders.”
Key appointments include former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim as Vice Chairman I, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as Vice Chairman II, and Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni retaining his secretary post.
Sub-committees will be formed and revealed later, Basiru added.
The adjustments come as the APC gears up for internal elections amid broader preparations for the 2027 general polls, where the party aims to consolidate power under President Bola Tinubu.
