APGA National Chairman ‘Ezeokenwa’ Urge Anambra NUJ To Up-hold Ethics Of Journalism

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has called on the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Anambra Council to uphold the ethics of the profession.

Barr. Ezeokenwa while speaking in a media chat at the APGA National Secretariat, Awka on Friday  emphssized on the need for professionalism in news reportage so as to avoid spreading unverified information

He described journalism as a nobel profession with ethics that guilds its members thereby, commending the union lead by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu for setting out one week to celebrate and bond together, stating that the event will foster unity and togetherness.

“Try and balance your reporting through investigation and not allow social media take over the jobs of journalist.

” Sociol media has turn everyone to be a journalist. People now sit at their homes, creat content and post. 

” Training, workshop, seminars should be organized constantly so as to set journalists apart from other social media influencers who just want to trend.

” The relationship between APGA and the media in Anambra state will keep improving through having constant interaction with Anambra NUJ”.

Ezeokenwa who is also a barrister while reacting to Thursdays Supreme Court judgement, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory. He commended the presidental candidate of Labour Party Mr. Peter Obi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for having the courage of taking the matter to the Supreme Court.

“The most important thing is our country Nigeria. I still have faith that this will improve. The removal of the subsidy is painful but inevitable. We all are feeling the heat but its just a matter of time. 

“The president should constitute a panel of inquiry and investigate the activities of all cabels and criminals involved during subsidy regime over the past decades. 

Some cabals highjacked the system and as a result, putting the country into borrowing and suffering. The people that caused the problem we are facing are those those suffering. Ezeokenwa lamented.
