The chairman of APGA in Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Amb. Brendan Chinedu Anaekwe has reacted to the assault and manhandle of Mrs Theresa Nwokaka by her daughter, Mrs Ukamaka Udugbo who was until 2023 APGA congress Deputy Women Leader of Ward One, Abagana.
In his phone interview with the press, Hon. Chinedu Anekwe (Amb) categorically bemoaned the inhumane act of assaulting the poor mother , saying that such domestic violence against the aged was unimaginable, to way dastardly and unbecoming in our society. He swiftly appreciated the State Government, Member representing Njikoka two Constituency Hon Dr Jude Akpua and the Nigerian Police for their ethos and pathos in handling the case .
On the membership of the assailant, Mrs Ukamaka Udugbo in APGA Party, the APGA Local Government Chairman said that the former has been suspended pending the fallout of investigation by the police . He noted that the suspension became necessary after investigation and verification from her ward chairman, Engr. Chinedu Obi-Okoye Splendour Chinedu who also went to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital Awka, Anambra State for fact-finding mission on the case for the party and in concurrence with the party’s guiding principle.
Lending his voice , the APGA Ward One chairman, Engr. Chinedu Obi-Okoye noted that the erstwhile Deputy Women Leader who assaulted the mother deserved a knock and added that her action against her mother was an assault against humanity and must be condemned by all right thinking person. He added that the decision of the party to suspend her was a smart step to save the party from the infamy attendant to her dastardly gesture.
