Archbishop Okeke Commissions Projects At Queen Of The Rosary College Onitsha

The Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke, has dedicated newly built chapel and commissioned several key projects within the Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha,

Speaking during the Eucharistic celebration inside the new chapel, Archbishop Okeke who blessed and consecrated the sacred edifice, describing it as a place that would deepen the spiritual life of students and strengthen the school’s Catholic identity.

In his homily, the Prelate recalled how God commanded Solomon to build and dedicate a temple in His name, reminding the faithful that while a chapel is a physical structure, the true Church is the community of believers whose faith and unity bring it to life.

After the Mass, the Archbishop proceeded to commission other facilities within the college, including the school clinic, the Queen of the Rosary College Alumnae Office, and the newly unveiled Wall of Fame, which honors individuals and groups who contributed to the chapel project.

Speaking in an interview, the Principal of Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha, Sister Maria Nwankwo, expressed deep appreciation to parents and the QRC Alumnae for their unwavering support despite economic challenges, praising their generosity and commitment to the progress of the institution.

Also speaking, Lolo Idu Okeahialam, who represented the QRC Alumnae Global President, reaffirmed the association’s dedication to sustaining the legacy of the college, noting that the chapel and other commissioned projects reflect the alumnae’s love and enduring bond with their alma mater.
