ASTUC Youth Wing Honours Nine Community Role Models In Awka South

The Youth Wing of the Anambra State Town Unions Council (ASTUC) has honoured nine distinguished individuals from the nine communities in Awka South Local Government Area for their outstanding contributions to society and positive influence on young people.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the recipients were recognised for inspiring hope through their personal sacrifices, achievements, and commitment to hard work, discipline, humility, and community service.

The awardees are Dr. Ugochukwu Morah (Awka), Chief Kenechukwu Ekwueme (Nibo), Chief Uchechukwu Nwoye (Okpuno), Chief Ugochukwu Nwokoye (Amawbia), Chief Stephen Okoli (Ezinator), Mr. Chuka Emenia (Mbaukwu), Comrade Chika Orji (Umuawulu), Arc. Ifeanyi Obi (Nise), and Chief Chekwube Okoli (Isiagu).

Representing Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, congratulated the honourees and urged youths across the state to continue making meaningful contributions to society.

He stressed that the actions of a few criminal elements “living in the bush” do not define the character or potential of Anambra youths.

Speaking at the event, the President-General of the ASTUC Youth Wing, Comrade Ken Okoli, said the awardees were nominated by their respective communities in recognition of their impactful lives and service. He encouraged them to continue serving as role models and mentors to the younger generation.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, Dr. Ugochukwu Morah and Chief Uchechukwu Nwoye expressed appreciation to the youth body for the honour and pledged to remain worthy examples in their communities.

Among the dignitaries present were the member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Prof. Lilian Orogbu; the Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor; and the APGA candidate for Awka South 2 Constituency, Pharmacist Boniface Egbutu.
